After registration at Londorossi Gate, begin your trek through dense rainforest, home to monkeys and exotic birds. Reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp by late afternoon.

Distance: 7 km / 4 miles
Climb out of the forest into heather and moorland. Cross streams and ridges to reach the Shira Plateau — one of the most dramatic landscapes on the mountain.

Distance: 8 km / 5 miles
Enjoy a slow trek across the Shira Plateau with beautiful views of glaciers and the summit cone. This day helps with acclimatization and allows time to adjust.

Distance: 7 km / 4.3 miles
Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This is a key “climb high, sleep low” day to help your body adjust to higher altitude.

Begin with a climb up the Barranco Wall — an exciting and scenic section. Continue through valleys and rocky terrain to reach Karanga Camp.

Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base for the final summit push. Enjoy an early dinner and rest, as you’ll begin the climb to Uhuru Peak before midnight.

Start your ascent around midnight and reach the summit at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement at Uhuru Peak, then descend via Barafu to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Distance: 17 km / 10.5 miles
Trek down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Collect your summit certificate, then drive back to your hotel in Moshi for a warm shower and celebration dinner.
