Start at midnight for a challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak. Reach the summit at sunrise, take in the views, then descend back to Barafu and continue to Mweka Camp.

Leave the rainforest behind and ascend into moorland. Trek through giant heathers and volcanic ridges before arriving at Shira Camp with views of Kibo Peak.

Climb steadily to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” approach is key for altitude adjustment.
